I bought this bass from a friend and let it sit around for a couple years while I pondered how to approach redoing it. Finally, I just dove in... Here's a Youtube link of the slideshow with details.   (I'm posting this with hopes that the vid link will work, since my pics are too big to post. Sorry. :-\) Shout out to Chromium for help with the EB-2D choke bypass mod! Also, If I was savvy enough, I would have played the background music on this bass, But you're stuck with the Coldplay ripoff.

Pretty good work, but did we have to have the gratuitous "pussy" shot...?

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Thanks! That's Abby Normal. She's not right in the head.  :o

Wow- the finished product looks fantastic!  Great job on the fade/burst with those colors too.  That came out better than many factory sunbursts

Still think you should have gone all "Bass Frehley" and done it up with triple mudbuckers  ;D

Nice work!

That's just pandering to your chromist tendencies...

Very nice. Very labor intensive but it came out great.

Lovely fin, much nicer than anything it ever came with in the original.

Thanks, all! As you can imagine, there are some minor mistakes I'm not happy about (the binding was a LOT of work), but given the state of this bass prior, I'm pretty satisfied. BTW, I tend to do this type of thing much better than I play. If I'd only spend these hours practicing!  ;D

Nocturnal

Great job on the refin!! That was a major undertaking!
