Very Yank of its time (in a good way) - reminds me of Cactus, Nitzinger and - very much - Trapeze, the latter probably no coincidence as Texas was their happy hunting ground when they couldn't get arrested anywhere else.

Just ordered the CD - had that one missing in my CD collection. Danke Nofi1

Everyone realizes this is a ZZ Top cover, right?  Just checkin'.   ;D

My knowledge of ZZ Top pre-Deguello is meek save for the obvious early hits. No, I didn't realize that it was a ZZ Top number - in that case, Stray Dog were certainly better produced thann early ZZ Top. ZZ Top - another connection to Trapeze, they played together in Texas a lot in the early 70ies.

Yes, this song appeared on the 2nd ZZ Top album - Rio Grande Mud.  It's a Billy Gibbons original.

Funny, the day I see this post (Monday) I got the new issue of Prog magazine which has an article on Manticore Records (owned by ELP and their manager) to which these guys were signed. Some good old rock!

Ah, another PROG subscriber, I saw the same article and had the same connection.  :) The Chris Squire commemorative issue.  :-\
