Definitely not my cup of tea but thought someone here might be interested.

Not in the greatest cosmetic condition. OTOH it has the carved front, which is fairly rare.

This is a local shop that's been around two or three years, I've never been there but their reputation is very good.

That's pretty cool.
My '72 was setup a lot like this one with the DSs and brass, and I sold that one three years ago for 1250.
1K is not bad (these days) - especially for an oak leaf.
Looks like it would clean up/touch up nicely too.  Mine was equally rough when I bought it, but left looking good...

That was a friggin' steal, given the price of Darkstars, even if they are going to appear once again.

Maybe it's like the Les Paul versus SG debate? But I prefer the profile of my JS-II, modded in a similar fashion plus this n that, to that of a Starfire.

Here's a nice photo of said bass as we "took our bows" on Saturday night with our staff attorney after a 40 year reunion show. (Which was awesome in all aspects.)

Nice pic!

They had just dropped the price by $200 when I posted the link, and it sold the next day. Somebody must have known what they were getting.

Dammit  I was looking at that!

I made you a lowball offer for that bass which I still regret!
