For sure. But what I meant was why is everybody selling them? To replace them with fretted necks?

Fender were almost the only ones making maple board fretless basses. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea. But they do look special. And then there were Sting and Boz Burrell and JPJ.

I have a fretted one and, yes, it's a tad on the heavy side. I've never weighed it but it's up there.
