My guitar guy uses water-thin cyanoacrylate adhesive "Hot Stuff". The capillary action distributes it through the wood. He says in a lot of cases the repair is actually stronger.

NEVER use CA glue to repair a stress crack. It's brittle and does not withstand the pressure. Same goes with epoxy and that crappy Gorilla glue. Titebond original. CA is good for repairing chips, maybe glueing Nuts on....but never anything structural.
My $.02.....I've worked as a Model maker in quite a few rapid Prototype shops, doing work for Nasa Motorola as well as our Military.

I agree with using Titebond, but Scott doesn't need our advice. He's an experienced woodworker who does furniture restoration.

 LOL Thanks Dave but advice is always welcome. This is the bass that came to me with a replaced headstock and the scarf joint had failed. I re did the repair and that held up wonderfully to the impact of the fall. I agree a little thinned out Titebond with a syringe is the way to go.
