hollow body guitar with bass neck?

I've been noticing that there are a lot more appealing body choices for hollow boy guitars than there are for basses.  There are obviously fewer bolt on choices than set necks.. but there are still more bolt on hollow body guitars at decent prices than there are hollow body basses in the same price range
anyway, as long as the neck fit the pocket properly, and the bridge was installed in the right place, the pickups replaced with bass pickups.  That should work and yield a playable instrument, right?
or is there something I'm not thinking about?

There are some guys working on here, if I'm right. Check the topics below.

Someone's even making a bass out of an Epiphone '57 LP Jr. guitar!

Yep, I'm making a Guild M-75 into a M-85, a Guild Starfire III and an Epi Sheraton into short scale basses.  All are in a thread in this forum.

I did a dobro bass from a guitar body. The scale was tricky though.M
It takes a very deep-rooted opinion to survive unexpressed
