So who is going to go see The Dark Knight this weekend? My friend bought our tickets this afternoon for the midnight showing. About mid-day I checked to see how much was sold out at the local AMC we are going to and they had 2 of the 4 showings sold out. I went back around 9:30 and they had increased the number of theaters from 4 to 10 with 2 still sold out.

I'm hoping to go tomorrow night.

I'm planning on going this weekend. I'm actually going to try to see it in an Imax theater. I've been a Batman fan since I was a kid and this movie just looks fantastic to me. Batman begins was a nice departure from those last couple that were made in the 90's.  Christian Bale was a great choice for this role IMO.

At my first house a little kid on the block dressed as batman everyday with a black cap & mask. He was the neighborhood batboy!

Priceless entertainment !

They filmed a lot of he movie here in Chicago, a guy I know saw in the paper saw they were doing a casting call for extras, he went down and landed a part as a police officer in the movie. I will have to see if he made the final cut.

Darrol

Yeah, they filmed a lot of it on location in Chicago. I can't believe they made a 18 wheeler do a handstand.

Just thought I would post this now before I forget, Remember to stay till after the credits.

Called the AMC I am going to about 20 minutes ago just to find out that all 10 screens are sold out and lines are already forming. Glad my friend went and got the tickets a couple days ago, now I just gotta convince him to get there by 8:30.

Just got back and I have to say that I agree with all the reviews, absolutely amazing. It is tragic that Ledger had to go so soon when his performance showed that he is the Joker. He adds a new spin onto the Joker, one that is sick and twisted.

Edit: Forgot to mention that my friend lied and there is no reason to stay till after the credits.

I hate when that happens!

Did they have a preview for Watchmen?

Did you see at the IMAX 3-D?

I saw it at the midnight showing last night.  Very very good.  I personally did not like, "Batman Begins," a whole lot, so I thought this one really redeemed the current iteration of the franchise, and Mr. Nolan.  Ledger's performance was spectacular, it really is a shame.

They had a trailer for Watchmen which looks pretty good. Not sure how close it stays to the story because I never read it but to me it looked entertaining.

I have not seen it in IMAX yet but I might. My friend is thinking about it so he he wants to then I will go see it there because I kind of want to see the movie again but my friend has to figure out if he wants to spend $15 a ticket to see it again in IMAX or not.
