Interesting, I put the same metal covers back on. I just removed the glue and plastic covers on the Artecs. I left the plastic for the screw holes on the Artecs for alignment. The metal covers just set over the pickup and the screws hold em on, no glue.
If you push something hard enough it must fall over.

Might be worth a wax pot to stop any potential vibration issue...

That was probably the intended function of the thick layer of adhesive.

the glue was just on the top of the Artec plastic cover to hold on the metal covers that had been added. It was not a factory glue, the pickups are just rectangles of black epoxy so they are still sealed like from the factory.

Thanks, I think I now understand the situation.  I thought you had added the covers yourself.  Didn't realize you were redoing them, that makes more sense.  I doubt Artec gives a hoot about shielding their pups.
