No, I once asked Neil what that pickup was and he said it was a Mighty Mite split coil reversed IIRC. I should ask him again.

Well, I did and he had 4 Mighty Mite P -pickup halves trimmed and fitted in under a cover he made from regular P-bass PU covers. He therefore could use whatever combination he wanted and ended up using mostly the one with D&G closer to the neck and E&A closer to the bridge = the reverse P.
The bridge pickup was two Jazz PU's wired together.

After a year or so I finally got it made. The cover is made from 4 P-bass covers and the pickup is in a reversed position (ala Yamaha BB2000, Spector NS-2 etc.). Allparts Teleneck and some old Schaller tuners. The bridge PU will be replaced by a humbucker and I'll add a switch for mono/stereo.



A string guide will be added, it just don't look right without it.:)

I doubt it but anyway it doesn't matter anymore. The bass sounds great and I really love the Tele neck. If I ever get myself a Fenderbird the neck has to be the D neck.:)

I modified it a bit more. Now it has two Dimarzio DP122's in reversed positions and in custom covers. Very punchy!
