This was the first Christmas we had as a family in a few years, and the first time I've seen my son in 2 years.  Both kids are now living in Chicago.  It was a nice night.

Nice to see a photo of you.  We get up to see my wife's dad (only surviving parent and an 1100 mile trip) probably twice a year, but every time we come through his door I'm reminded how lucky I am to still have both my daughters within 80 miles.  I know that won't last, but I sure am enjoying it for now.

Nice! I'm glad you got to spend that time with them.

Thanks, everyone!  You'll get a kick out of what my son has to say about Denver.  He left under what sounds like a lot of difficulty, but he summed up his last impression by explaining that housing is very hard to find, rents are going sky high, and "every 20-year-old white kid that smokes pot is trying to move to Denver these days".

He left out the craft brewing fanatics who are moving to Denver.

Oh, I'm sure he knows that.  He was working at Great Divide when he left.  I don't know if he was kidding, but he said that the employees turned one of the brew vats into a hot tub one week-end, while they drank beer and played soccer in the parking lot.  He's now in Chicago, trying to get into Half Acre, and also sending resumes to Three Floyds and Lagunitas.
