To each his own. IMHO she was homely before the plastic surgery but at least back then I didn't have to change the channel to avoid looking at her. Back in the day, I was only repulsed by the stupid songs that got played to death, like Half Breed and Gypsies Tramps and Thieves.

Never understood the gay icon thing either. How does a heterosexual woman become an icon for a whole class of people who aren't straight?

Dunno, but there's Barbra Streisand, Liza Minelli, Joan Collins, David Beckham, Nelson Mandela and Maya Angelou. All have been mentioned numerous times as gay icons.  Perhaps many of us like very accomplished people?  Further, maybe those with a sense of style tend to fall into this category more often?

Very interesting Wikipedia page on gay icons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_icon
I learned a new word - "dykon". (I guess I lead a sheltered life)
I'm astounded at the number of alleged gay icons - Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, Saint Sebastian, ... Bugs Bunny, Spongebob. Pretty much everybody except Ritchie Blackmore.

Cher has the power to make an ex-husband ski into a tree.

I'll take Yoko, thanks.

Not a chance!

And I'm not a convert. I won't be buying any of Yoko's music. OTOH there aren't many people who have their own strange vision like she does.

Some miscellaneous thoughts... Well, that's another 4:49 of my life that I won't get back. Oh look - Sean's in the band! What a surprise. It must really kill her that all John's talented genes went to Julian. BTW, what the hell does she need a teleprompter for? In case she forgets whether she's supposed to screech or or do her wild turkey call?

Haha! I thought you were exaggerating when you said "screech or do her wild turkey call". I wonder how anyone can play with a straight face with her caterwauling up there, especially on national TV? I would have thought that by now her "singing" would have evolved a little.

Dave I can't stand Cher either, does nothing for me, never did.
