First - Harry, I just listened and "Liked" on FB. Cool jams! Nice way to start the day.

Second - Hematoma - I have one and I really like it. I've always gone for Tube Screamer-based overdrives, and this is probably the best I've found. I went for the "Tone Stax" option, which gives you 2 JRC4558 chips piggybacked. It really sounds great. There's no blend knob, but they have this feature - "Carefully constructed circuitry allows the original bass tone to pass through unaltered.  No loss of low end." - which I kind of like better. The clean boost is a really handy feature too. Nothing but good things to say about that pedal!

Thanks Tom! We now have enough "likes" that we can get more detailed statistice - you need 30 or something.

Glad to hear a review of the Hematoma - did yours come with the "Tone Stax" option or did you send it in and have it modded? I still need to play with mine a lot more.

I ordered it that way.

So we finally played the gig! I ended up taking my Alembicized P-Bass (the AlFemBic) & the Triumph as a backup. I used the AlFemBic for the first set, then thought, I've brought the Triumph, I should use it! Part of me thinks it was a little too dark/mushy, but when I think back I actually enjoyed it, both feel- & sound-wise. Unfortunately the recording I did came out distorted so it's hard to tell what it sounded like from the audience perspective.
