Here's a good one - I saw this on TV within the past couple of years - my dad loved Lawrence Welk and I remember watching it a lot as a kid - I must've caught the tail end of the run - anyway, check it out:

In the back of my brain, if it is Saturday night around 7:30, then its Lawrence Welk time.  That is fun.

I had a 62 Bass VI, pretty early variant like the black 3 switch strat pup one in the pic, but sunburst.  I liked it a lot, but it got to be extra and I needed some money.  I wish I still had it in a weird way.  At any rate, my way of playing it was strung up with black tapewound strings.  Kind of hard to do these days.

I performed a minor but significant mod on my MIJ Bass VI - the tortoiseshell pickguard that came with it was terrible - so I finally put on a black guard from Pickguardian:

I just recorded a cover version of the Cure's "Lullaby" using my bassplayer's Gretsch Baritone-jet for both the bassline and the main riff. I had it at my house because I had to widen the grooves in the string saddles because the strings kept popping out, the latest of a long list of Modifications I performed on her.

The Poor Girl has had it rough as you can tell. He chucks her around a lot, made me remove the Bigsby because replacing strings was sheer hell and I made him a Black pickguard because he hated the look of the pearloid number she came with. He also expressed desires to have me re-finish her in flat black, so far I talked him out of doing that...

And how does she sounds? They're cheap basses and I thought of buying one some times. And Gretsch = Fender so it belongs here I guess?

Some more VI action, from my home town of Arnhem. It's Hank the Knife & the Jets!:

Many thanks for the Jimmy Crespo link.  The guy was very happening.

Bass VI - didn't you make a Coronado Bass VI a while back?

Someone here did, but it wasn't me. Great idea for a project though.

There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you
