What a great story. Bought new in '57. How awesome that he's held onto it all these years. I've only ever bought two basses new and I do wish I'd never sold the first one ('81 Precision Special). $300 was a lot of money in 1957!

I've only bought the two new as well, but I still have them... The RD and the Hohner Jack...
