I saw that one. The PUPs look like the nickel Greco style ones, as opposed to the high output Orvilles with the epoxy backs?

Is there any way to know what PUPs are in an Orville TBird simply from looking at it from the front?

To me, the possibility of Greco pickups makes this even more attractive. I'm not in buying mode these days but if I was that one would already be sold.

These are the exact same as the Grecos. The Orville By Gibsons are the epoxied high output ones...

Not on this '89 OBG, metal cans with metal bottoms, same as 60s Gibsons but with countersunk mounting screw holes and 3/4" tall.  Definitely high output, too harsh sounding for me.  Steve has the specs somewhere, we decanned one of them, it wasn't even potted.  Maxshrek (Terry) owns the bass now.

Pups were originally black powdercoated over nickel silver.  I stripped (rattlecan paint remover) and polished them and added rings.

Right, Carlo...these are the Exact same pickups that are in a Greco. The Orville Thunderbirds do not have metal bottoms. They are blue epoxied. These have metal bottoms like the 60's but are Deeper (same as a Greco).
