My son loves his rank and file Firebird over his Custom Shop LP and the Floyd Rose Explorer grinding machine. He also plays nicest (and funkiest) with it.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...

I have to say, it grows on me ... that fin is garish (but created by the Nashville flood, so it's a nice inside joke), the maple board not really within the family, but I can't say that anything the guy plays with it sounds bad (not that he plays a lot with it!). I'd give a bass like that a try, probably nice for doodling things at home, writing songs, getting inspiration. Toys can sometimes do that for you.

The Firebird X looks WAY more like a PRS with a broken and improperly healed hip than an actual member of the 'Bird family. Headstocks matter.
