Food allergies can be tricky and unannounced.  Often (not always) when I eat Indian food (which I like) I'm thankful for restrooms in the vicinity, from one second to another you cannot have a lot of time. I don't have any other allergy reactions, my body just discharges quickly, very quickly. Funnily enough, if I fight against it (which can be painful), it subsides after a few minutes and things then take their natural course. In natural time.

But let's not complain, awkward and sometimes a little stressful  , but not as bad as a cardiac arrest.  :) Be thankful, metabolism is life.

It was only a matter of time until we would get from anal sex to this more wholesome subject really!

Yeah, it's not like I spend a lot time in front of a TV camera, but if I did, I'm pretty sure I would avoid conversations like this ;D.

Al's problem was not an allergy - he had gastric bypass surgery, which causes a sensitivity to certain foods. He just wasn't being as careful as he should have.

On the list of things I would really NOT want to do, making a statement like that on TV would be very high up on the list.  The woman interviewing him who attempted to defuse the situation with her nonchalance was unsuccessful.

I take it some of you don't watch the Today show and aren't familiar with Al Roker's humor and straightforwardness.

The woman interviewing him is Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC's chief medical editor who appears often on the Today show. I'm sure she knew in advance exactly what was being discussed.

I dislike all those morning shows.  I've tried from time to time to like them, but pretty much continue to detest all of them.  Most of the time when I do watch one, I'm in the dentist's office or chiropractor's office.  Since I'm in both of those places a lot, I do watch them on a fairly frequent basis, but only as part of a captive audience.  It truly is drudgery and I'd honestly rather be in the dentist's chair or on the chiropractor's table.  I've learned to be careful what I say, however, because some people are fans of those morning show hosts.  I made a comment about not liking one of them some time ago and a relative really got offended by it.  Evidently, she is very fond of one of those people on that ABC morning show.

I pass on the morning shows in favor of those with true substance, like Letterman.   ;) ;D

I must be the only one in this thread who knows that this is all part of the promotion for his new book http://www.amazon.com/Never-Goin-Back-Winning-Weight-Loss/dp/0451414934/

No question that he likes to attract attention to himself. Considering the subject of the thread, if I were Joe Biden, I would have verified that Al had washed his hands - just in case.
