I've listened to this about 20 times while working at my desk and watched it a bunch too. I love the flight sequence shown during the first 15 minutes or so.

Sure sounds like it, although there's a real clear closeup of his right hand in "Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii" clearly showing roundwounds.

I love Floyd's stuff, especially the late '69-'71 recordings but only found out recently that Waters split between a P-bass and a Ric until the Ric was stolen along with a bunch of the band's other equipment in Louisiana in '70 or '71. From then on it was mostly P-bass.

Pompeii was a couple of years later, he might have switched by then. There sure was a lot of Krautrock in early Pink Floyd. Or perhaps the other way around. But the meditative vibe can grow on you if it catches you in the right mood. Even without drugs, but I'm sure they help!   Certainly "Echoes" was back in school a "get your joints out"-track - bling, bling, bling ...  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Denis, did you know that regular drug intake as a youth can lead to repetetive behavior as an adult?

"I've listened to this about 20 times ..."

I am not insinuating anything, I swear!  :-X

Great stuff.
I just walked in the door from a 9 hour drive and listened to The Floyd for the last 5 hours or so.

Off topic, but for the OP:
Denis, are you playing at any time during this weekend's Sparkcon Festival in downtown Raleigh?
Would love to catch your show if you are.
I'm heading there right now to watch my kids play a set on the Main Stage.

Waters played flatwounds back then?

Remember watching Waters like a hawk from the light-show bay at the Fantasio ( sister club to Paradiso in 1968/69), Amsterdam. He was playing flats for sure back then.

My old pal Joe Messina of Funk Brothers fame did all those nice Motown chops on a Strat with flatwounds.
