Were the electronics on the two the same or basically the same?

Nothing alike. The Rd artist had the huge Moog Board with expansion & compression plus bass & treble boost where the victory did not.

One would have thought with all that wood carved away it would lighten the bass. Uwe stated that the Artist & the RD standard weigh close to the same.

Thanks! I ask because I saw a Victory Artist for sale and the listing said it had electronics by Moog and I was unsure if that was accurate or not.
Dang, that RD sure has been relieved of a lot of its body. Makes me wonder how much all those electronics actually weigh...

Here's the Victory Artist's guts for comparison:

It really irritates me when people name drop Moog when speaking about the Victory Artist.  Moog had naff all to do with it.  It's a completely different beast - active AND passive 2 band EQ versus strictly active only 2 band + Moog magic/sorcery/madness.
Basses: Epi JC Sig 20th Anniversary - Epi Les Paul Standard - Epi Korina Explorer - G&L CLF L-1000 - G&L Tribute LB-100 - Sire D5 - Reverend Triad - Harley Benton HB-50
Band: The Inevitable Teaspoons

Thanks for the comparison photo!
Here's the listing in question which prompted me to turn to the experts here. :) Nice looking bass even if he's incorrect.

It does look nice, but always I can't believe it when people do not clean a bass before photos, when they are selling it. At least he took it outside to photograph. Its not the rarest of colors (painted neck ones are), but looks nice.

The Victory electronics sound a lot rockier and barkier (the Vic has more midrange than the either very trebly or very bassy RD) than anything that Moog board could provide, the signal is alo more direct at least in my ears, with the RD Artist I always hear a micro-second of a delay in the release of tone (even when expansion and comression mode are off). Must be my mind.  :-\
