The people who claim the Shaggs were making some kind of avant garde music were either being facetious or else were the kind of folks who would buy an empty canvas because an "artist" told them it represented something deep.

Maybe daddy did, but unfortunately they still won't go away, thanks to those who somehow think they were brilliant.

It also rankles me when I read that they were the first all-female rock and roll band to play their own instruments. They certainly weren't the first, they couldn't play their instruments and the "music" they played wasn't any recognizable form of popular music.

Maybe daddy paid off some DJs too. That song did get played on at least one Chicago radio station.

But then, that was back when LSD was at the hieght of it's popularity too.

some info here from a record geek. i think they pressed 1,000 lps that wound up getting 'lost'. the few that survived are worth a bunch. it was reissued a couple times over the years. just my 2 cents.
