Ronn mentioned last month that the Bubble Puppy got together again for a few gigs, with most of the original members. A bunch of songs are up on YT from their 12/30 gig at the Saxon Pub in Austin. Bassist is Jimmy Umstattd (not the original bassist). Drummer Dave Fore is the original drummer, he played with the Eggmen for several years.

Here's their hit single from 1969, Hot Smoke & Sassafras

And their other single I remember, Thinking About Thinking

Very cool I'll have check them out on YT, thanks for posting those Dave

They still sound pretty decent. Pretty good mix for a live bar video.

As I was watching this, I got a Blue Oyster Cult flash. Not sure if the harmonies or chord changes/riffs or just the way they look with the three guitars made me think of BOC.

Yeah, yeah...I know they pre-date BOC...

Wish we had a better view of the bass...almost looks like a Bach with the truss rod cover switched.....

After a few year's absence, Davy has been back drumming with the Eggmen for about a year now. I'd been bugging him for years to get the Puppy back together and they finally listened! ;) They play a show every few months.

In the second video you can see a tugbar on that bass and it appears in the first video that the pg is yellowed above the E string. Looks cool, though!
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
