I finished building an Explorer

And here it is.

It has a Body made of burled maple with a mid section of walnut. The offset midsection was done intentionally.
My inspiration came from the Ibanez Destroyer, with one pickup covered and the other open. The pickups are a GFS Classic at the neck and an Ibanez V8 at the bridge. It sounds brutal, clearly the rock monster I intended it to become. It sounds tighter than my Les Paul but they're on equal terms when it comes to sheer grind.

I can't wait to bring this one to the next rehearsal.

love the burled maple, it looks great in trans cherry.

Although I've never been a fan of the Explorer shape, your work looks great. That offset works very well the way it flares out at the bottom.
