Well I was bored the other day and was curious about these Limited Edition Tbirds from Epi so I ordered one. All I can say is It's boxed up and going back on Monday. Right off the bridge pulls out, easy fix but come on how hard can it be to get this right ? There is a run in the finish on the  back, the D tuner is so stiff it feels like it might snap off, sloppy neck pocket on the treble side, fret buzz at the 16th fret on all 4 strings, uneven radius on the body edge etc. etc. etc. All in all just plain sloppy. My Squier Vintage Modified Tele is much MUCH better for a similar price. I did however like the sound, the chrome pups have some balls.

I found them way to nasty-middish on my Silverburst Ltd, no presence, no bass, just blaring mids - turned out they were the same six pole guitar pups Epi uses on its cheaper guitars. Gibson chrome TB Plus from a Mon(k)ey Bass  rectified all that and now the Epi has full lows and glistening presence, but still enough mid range raunch.

Maybe Epi has changed the design of those chrome pups? Those on my Silverburst Ltd sounded worse than the regular Epi oapbars of my Alpine-White Ltd which sound not tear-driving great, but accept- and useable.

I've had Epis with better workmanship than Gibson and ones that were so maladjusted and badly set up (bolt on neck at wrong angle or too low) that a beginner bass player could have never set them up right.

My White Epi EB3 is a beautiful bass, one of my favorite EB3 versions.
