I had heard the name Jas Obrecht -- he's an author and former editor of Guitar Player -- but I had no idea this archive of articles existed online until he posted a link to his latest article at another forum.

Read the Dregs stuff - rare band over here but saw them once - Andy West was playing an Alembic 1 iirc

interesting Duane Allman stuff too
