If you wonder what basses weigh....
« on: February 06, 2011, 01:30:39 PM »
Here's a spreadsheet I've worked on for about 2 years using info gathered on Talkbass.  There 323 basses in it.

If you want to add your info to the list, please post it here, giving me the following info:

Manufacturer - Year - Model - special features - weight (pounds & ounces; 8 pounds 4 oz would be noted as 8.4)

Example:

Fender      1963      Precision      Bridge/PU covers      8.3

I'm aware that some of the info is a bit "off", but I'm not an expert on basses.  If someone told me it was an Ernie Ball, that's how it's listed.  If they told me it was a Musicman, that's how it's listed.  People use some of the damndest abbreviations to describe basses, and I don't understand many of them.

There are very few Gibbys, and only one Tbird.  If you want to that info, I'll add it.

In Excel, select the column with all the listed bass weights, hit the "sum" button and OILA! you have your RD's weight!
