Just saw this at the Sandberg-facebook and I like it. Sandberg is available in the US since last NAMM.

It's a Sandbird.

The few Sandbergs I tried were generally nice but not awesome. By the way, I didn't know they made distressed finishes.

Two thumbs down here. I don't like relic finishes, and I wouldn't like it if the finish were normal. It doesn't look right.

I don't mind the relic finish, but the knob is ugly.  And what's the 4 dots next to the neck?

Sandberg does a lot with relicing. And the four dots is their logo.

I dunno, I kinda like it!  I'm ok with the relic thing, long as it doesn't look too obvious/intentional.

What is the pickup used here?

The body is too wide. They could have kept those curves by shaving an inch or so from the middle and saved on wood and a had much nicer bass that still wasn't an exact TBird body shape. As it is, it looks like the body is eating the neck and the neck is trying to run away to the upper right,

Not commenting on the quality of the bass, it's probably very nicely made.

But, a poorly executed Thunderbird shape really turns my stomach!


We can rant forever about the stupid things Gibson does, but their proportions are simply the best, not simply because they did *it* first either.

But that isn't a credit to Gibson, but to Ray Dietrich's automan's sense for proportions.

I've seen nice Sandbergs just for the record. But this is a monstrosity of atrocious proportions. Ostfront for the entire Sandberg staff beckons.
