In my humble opinion.Peavey bass combos are some of the best sounding and heavy duty amps ever made.every new combo bass amp ive tryed, ampeg on down, rattle like crazy. My old peaveys dont!
Life is like a big fan.And sometimes the CACA hits it!

I've got two combo 300's. Ancient...

Heavy...o-k sound ...but reliable.

Will fill a bar with the type of music I play (they call it oldies)...

not loud enough for hard rock, but fine for blues, roots music and oldies...

Love the Combo 300's.  Also the Databass combo is very nice as well.

Just an update (in case anyone else is in a similar situation):
I found a local guy who was selling a new Black Widow 15" speaker & basket and installed it last night...the 'ol Peavey is thumping again and louder and clearer than ever. Even some noises that I never associated with the speaker are now gone.
The Bright & Punch settings are great now.  I had to remove a few items off the walls that are now rattling.  That's a good thing.
Have Fun.  Be Nice.  Mean People Suck.
