Found a great deal on a discontinued Markbass Classic 152 (2x15), around half retail price.  It's 2" taller than two of my SWR Goliath Jr 210 stacked, but weighs 17kg (37lbs) less - 33kg (73lbs) vs 50kg (110lbs).

Vintage style tone plus easier to lug.  And it should still fit in the rear hatch compartment of my Mazda3

A sealed 2x15? I don't think I've ever seen one of those.  ???

They're common among pre mid-70's cabs. I've never seen Markbass's, but if it sounds anything like their other lightweight cabs, I'll pass.

Yup, just about every Fender 15 cab I saw in the 60's was sealed.

I used a WEM 2x15 during the 70's that was sealed

Not that I'm in the market but what are the perceived shortcomings?

Psycho Bass Guy

Their lightweight cabs are very low-end shy and have an almost 'Peavey-esque' upper midrange emphasis, but centered at a higher frequency and with a wider bandwidth. I have three of the VERY heavy HD212 cabs they made for Ernie Ball, and they're downright awesome. I've played their lightweight 1x12, 1x15, 2x10 and 8x10 and every one of them had the same basic voice.

Were these cabs you played the Classic series (sealed, rear ported), or the regular front ported models?

I played the ported versions of the 1x12, 1x15, and 2x10. The 8x10 was sealed. They all sounded pretty much the same. I don't think that the cabs were necessarily bad because of driver shortcomings, just that they're voiced in a way I don't like.
