I was fortunate to score a pretty good case off of feebay last weekend that looked like it would work.  A lot less than the gibson cases i saw on ebay no need to reverse the reverse ))))

my only concern was whether it would fit the bird.  i must report very snuggly at that.  clears by about  3/4 inch all the way around.

all i need is to make a little nut support.  right now i am using the strap folded up....  and a towel around the body for safety till i get the "L" bracket replaced with a ribbon or such.

some razor blade carving was necessary as it appears no instrument was actually in the case.

here is the brand and number if anyone wants to try and find another.

Sweet! How is the depth of that case? Will there be enough clearance once you add a neck support?

Keep in mind that when you put in a neck support to get the headstock off the bottom it will raise the body so it's supported only by the end. I made a wedge underneath all my padding so more of the body was supported than just the butt. Very snug but it works.

inside is about 4- 4 1/2  inches so it should work ok.  lost of razor cuts on my hands today....  i will probably make a wood neck support and glue it into the case wall.  plus the whole think in egg cartoon looking that interlock when closed.  so whole body has support as it compresses when i close the case.

You need to get something to stop the bass moving backwards/forwards - the last thing you want is to have the head make sharp contact with the casing, after getting an end-on jar, as that type of foam WILL compress...

I would say behave yourself, but I know I'd be wasting my finger tips... ;)
