Really? My 76 Bicentennial is really sleek, perhaps more so than my more modern birds which all seem to have a bit more "fat" (and for good reason too) around that crucial zone where neck merges into headstock. But they all have the same narrow, J-Bassy string spacing at the nut (wheras Epis with the exception of the Blackbird have a P Bass nut spacing). Between my sixties, seventies and modern day TBs, I find little difference in the necks which are all sleek and comfortable. Only one of my NonRevs has a very fat (but still narrow) neck.

Seems to me that the fatter necks were more a production aberration than a style of a certain era.
