Of course, real men just accept neck dive and get on with it!
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...

Geeze, you guys need to use different straps.  No bass will neck dive with a suede backed 4" wide leather strap (or one of those homoerotic neoprene "comfort" straps), unless you wear your bass high like a necklace.

Gotta side with Mark on this one. I have a thick leather strap I made in High School that's 4" wide and raw on the underside. Nothing I've ever played while using it has caused me any problems with neck dive.

Ì hate suede straps, cos they pull at my shirt. I like straps 'gliding' over my shoulder.

And a +1 for Uwe. I just got used to neck dive on most of my basses. If I play a bass without it, it's just an extra nice thing.

BTW: If a bass has neck dive issues in Holland or Germany, the neck tries to go up in Australia? Am I right?

Yep, Neck LIFT is such a problem here  ;D   I think Singapore is a good place to own a Gibson Bass. Neck sits perfectly level.
