Early 60's Gibson EB-3 Truss Rod Cover (Need one!)
« on: March 04, 2010, 12:36:33 PM »

Group...

I'm looking for an early 60's EB-3 truss rod cover.
Does not have to be vintage, I'll gladly take a replica.
...anyone know where I can get one? (With two screws would be great!)

Already contacted Gibson but they were not much help.

Thanks in advance!

Curt

"Already contacted Gibson but they were not much help." LMFAO they never are. Not sure if I have one but I'll check out the parts box.

Here's an option if I'm not mistaken:

Nr 30 would probably be the correct one.

The black/white material is listed under category C as nr 71:

Hmmmmm... Is the example shown under material 71 the actual part?
...if so, that doesn't look right.
Wish that website showed examples of each part.

Thanks for the heads up...

Does anyone know if "ALL" Gibson's truss rod covers were the same for bass and guitar at that time?
...Would a Les Paul cover fit?  ???

Sorry Curt I got Nothing  I think the guitar and bass TR covers are the same from the 60's. A LP might just work.

I'll measure the one on my LP (guitar) and see. I may even have a blank one in my parts box. Give me until tonight and I'll know.

I'm looking for one for my SG JR, same thing except all black. There are a few on ebay to choose from. Even this Gibson replacement:

They are all the same shape, just the plys or engravings vary.  An historic LP/SG one would be fine.
