My wife had an aunt and uncle that exchanged the same two valentines cards for about 40 years!  Every year they would pull them out of a drawer and hand them to each other, open the envelopes, put them back in the envelopes and then back in the same drawer.

My dad had a nice heart-shaped candy box that he re-filled with candy every year for my mom on Valentine's day.

I have adopted that practice - sometimes I even let her choose part of the contents.  There are plenty of good candy stores around where I can fill it.

I like the idea.  They're both gone, but I can honor their memory in this practice.
