Popgala 1973
« on: December 06, 2009, 12:19:39 PM »
Yesterday dutch TV broadcasted long lost footage of a big festival that was held in 1973. The footage that was broadcasted in 1973 is lost. But recently the left-overs were discovered in the vaults of the dutch broadcasting companies.

There's a lot of dutch spoken interviews and commentary. But in between there is great footage of The Who (with JAE on the Fenderbird), Rod Stewart & The Faces, Slade, The Eagles, Rory Gallagher, Ry Cooder, Argent, Colin Blunstone, Chi Coltrane and a few dutch bands.

This was the first time such a big festival was broadcasted live in The Netherlands. The documentary shows the problems the inexperienced organisation ran into.

And here's some more.
kind of a long introduction. But half way there's an entire song by The Faces: Cindy Incidentally

Same story, but this one is with a Slade song starting half way this video: Coz I Luv You (with Jim Lea on the violin)

And again with that same long introduction and half way an entire song: this one is with The Eagles who weren't all that big back then: Take It Easy
