That's an insult the Gay Community doesn't deserve. Most Nazis were straight. Ernst Röhm was killed in a purge and his gay life then laid out in the Nazi tabloids - as a matter of fact Hitler had known about him being gay and never cared, hetero himself he was comparatively relaxed about "the other team" and not a prude or bigot. It was convenient to bring it up after Röhm had become a danger to Hitler's power. Very few of the top Nazis were gay, none of them openly, it was a criminal offense in Nazi Germany for men to have intercourse with another and gays were sent to concentration camps and singled out there with a pink triangle. Himmler was a raging gay hater which has given rise to (albeit unconfirmed) speculation that he might have self-loathed himself for leaning that way too.

I was never aware that the Nazis had much involvement with gays, except to persecute them much the same as they persecuted the Jews.
