They just look more elegant in long scale:

Gotta love the Dean but I'd prefer that Goth BloodRed Gibson in a lefty!
Close ups & other angles please!!!

That's no Gibson, but an Ibanez!!! It preceded the Gibby by something like 5 years and was long scale/full maho.

Same model as Jim Lea btw:

That is my Gibson:

Uwe,

I think I'm going in the direction of the Ibanez, it really is how Gibson should have done it! The pickguard on the Gibson looks identical to the guitar version ( sans pickup location ) controls, etc. appear the same. Do you know anyone with a V guitar you could compare yours to?

All the Best,

S.

That is my Gibson:

That I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world
That I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
All my pictures of you

My son has a 2007 faded triple pup Gibson Flying V, his shape is like my bass' shape. That is also the size of the Ibanez and the Dean Flying V basses, there is hardly any difference in size among these four.

But possibly you might want to go this way, the boutique V from Gibson?

BTW: A Grabber headstock is a bit more than 7" long, a Flying V bass headstock 7 1/2". A Grabber headstock at its widest almost 4" wide, the Flying V bass headstock only about 3 3/4", so the Flying V headstock is altogether a little sleeker and elongated.
