??? Is the Outback redesign really that hideous?  The Legacy now looks like a bloated Camry.

An AutoWeek review that arrived today begins "Company brass did not want to risk alienating one of the most loyal customer bases in the business".  Oh really?  Like they listened to the rants against decontenting from the members of LegacyGT.com that began years ago.  Like they listened to rational letters I mailed to "brass" in NJ and Japan, and we own two LGTs.  Something went seriously awry when Toyota and GM got involved, and they hired that marketing guy from Porsche N.A.

I liked the 2005 because it was a hair bigger than the Outbacks of previous years, but that's ridiculous! Why does every new car have to cater to suburban soccer moms and their husbands, erm, short-scale instruments?

I was outraged by what they did to the Forester. The previous one was a pocket rocket in sheeps cloths (XT with a strick)

The same happened with Jeep. They reasoned no one cared if they were trail rated, so the came out the the Compass disaster.

Now that's funny! Somebody must have told Subaru that ugly is the new cool. Maybe they're trying to woo Pontiac Vibe buyers.

If ugly really is the new cool, that means my Aztek is finally coming into its own.
