Makes for fun finding posted links "within" the site...

Only found the site today but found an odd reference to Peter Cook being in the "retail-trade"...?

I was searching for info on "rotary switches", which led me there...

Just rambling on... what's new...

I presume we'll find out why he had to re-locate in good time...

John, didn't you get the email?

You'll have to reset your password, aside from that, it looks like he was able to save everything.

I assume Jules won't mind this being posted here, it's his original mail:

"Hi all,

due to some very persistant spammers, I have just changed forum software for the site.

The transfer seems to have gone quite smoothely, although your passwords will need to be reset. This is unfortunate, but I knew this would be the case before I even started the transfer. Please do a 'forgotten my password' request, and a new one will be emailed to you. Naturally you can change this once you log on.

All other data should remain the same, although some users may have lost their avatars.

If you have any problems, or notice anything not as it should be, please don't hesitate to let me know. The new forum is active here

http://forums.vintageguitars.org.uk/index.php

I will not delete the old one until I am sure everything is working well. Please, if you spot anything wrong, do let me know

Thanks all
Jules"

Jules' forum is not the only one where spammers create problems. If we see comparatively little of it here, it is thanks to Dave who devotes quite some time deselecting notorious spammers from the people joining up here. Selfless old grouch he is. Danke schön.

That's not the overemotive one though who makes fun of Gordon Lightfoot. I thought a child picture of her might lead Dave to some clemency.

Maybe she could claim Indian blood. Hey, it worked for Iron Eyes Cody, Link Wray and Marvin Rainwater, none of whom were/are Indians.

Add Cher, Keanu Reeves and Tommy Bolin to that list.

Robbie Robertson formely of The Band has also (re)discovered whatever Native American roots he believes to have. Not doubting it (and he made a nice world music solo effort out of it some years back), but he never flaunted his American Indian heritage when he was with The Band IIRC.

And then there is of course Rick Medlocke of today Lynyrd Skynyrd and once Blackfoot.

Blackfoot were a great band... saw them a few times, once with the Scorpions... lucky enought to have seen Skynyrd, too... "Gimme Back My Bullets" tour and "On The British Road" tour with Steve Gaines... not many of them left now...

Shorty Medlocke (Rick's grampappy) was also a Skynyrd influence...

Of course, Blackfoot had there "token white-man..."
