Isn't that a Recording guitar that's been modified to a bass?  Think about it................  I had this experience with a Mosrite, so I'm thinking this looks like a familiar mod.

Headstock doesn't look modified so I don't think it was a guitar. Looks like the neck was shortened by 7 frets and the bridge moved back. I wouldn't pay anywhere near the current bid for it, even if it does intonate (and I wouldn't be too sure about that).
