I gotta pair in here and they do sound great.  Good luck finding some.  I snagged these off ebay a couple years ago and haven't seen any since.

I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Yes, That bass looks Killer. But The Orvilles are 10K and mike Lulls are only 8 and 9K.

You could always get some Artecs (or similar) and have them rewound at 10K.

Baz,

 Mike deliberately had his pups wound to those readings, the '64 he used to reverse engineer them is a fantastic bass, the pups being a huge factor.........

The resistance reading is only a valid comparison point if you're comparing two pickups with the exaqct same construction, bobbin size, wire gauge and wire insulation thickness.

Even if all those factors were the same, all the higher reading would tell you for sure is that the output would be a little hotter. Not necessarily better sounding.

CORRECTION:  I was reading the other posts and it dawned on me that I got those Orville TB pups from a forum member who posted them for sale in another forum, not eBay.  No big deal, but I thought I'd correct my aging memory!   :P
