This '81 MIA 1st generation Bullet is for sale locally, asking $480... Basically a CBS Tele with Mustang pickups. Opinions please?

I've seen a couple in the past two years around here, both at $395 (IIRC). No idea if that's typical and I've never played one.

It's the cheapest vintage US-made Fender from the CBS era. Not long after they were introduced, they started to evolve into a poor man's Strat: first an upper body horn and Strat pickups (like this one), or the Deluxe with a proper bridge; then 3 pickups, until they became the MIJ Squier Bullet which is almost a Strat.

I liked them when they had some sort of uniqueness, like this early one ($425 BIN).

Think of how many had their necks ripped off to make a cheap Tele.  Lots.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

sound kinda funny I think. The body is made of plywood. at least the ones I've seen were made of plywood. Plywood doesn't instantly mean that it is bas or something like that but you have to consider that.
