The last couple of weeks have been busy for me and my cat Red. Because with the dropping of temperature, Mice have once again set up camp in my appartment and those pesky little f***ers are noisy as hell.

This evening I figured that it would be the right thing to order a Pizza and have it delivered to me. After I finished the thing I left the box on the floor in front of the TV dresser with every intention to getting rid of it later. (Yeah right) fast forwards to five minutes ago, I hear strange scraping noises along the wooden floor of my crib. I look over to where they came from and notice the Pizza box was being pulled under the dresser. So I quickly grabbed the thing and pulled it from underneath the dresser, taking along three mice. I quickly disposed of the Pizzabox. But I need to buy mousetraps because those little f***ers are not only smart but extremely noisy. Red can't keep up with them either.

Still getting warm out here in SoCal but it is slowly cooling down. The temperature actually yo-yo's up and down week to week and the next couple days are supposed to be close to 80.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

It was 77 today. Now it's 35 with high winds and rain. Never can tell around here at this time of year.

At least I haven't seen any evidence of mice.

Wow, cold? thats really weird.

Here we only get mouse problems when its hot, usually after heavy winter rains.

Sorry about the over hyped version of the story but the Vennings are from a well known wine producing family in the Barossa Valley. I actually work with Michael Venning. Their pig farm is on the plains about 100kms from me (I'm up in the hills).

At our old house my son made a life size skeleton out of big milk bone biscuits and glued them to a board. We put it in the attic for storage. In the spring when we went up in the attic all the bones were gone and the board was covered with mouse droppings!

This is Florence, my parents' cat and she's the best mouser I know of. As you can tell by the look in her eye she's tough as nails, unfortunately she doesn't live with me.
