This guy originally went to congress & GM a few years ago to do this. Israel is on board with the company.

GM balked and congress did not see it fit to help their lobbyist groups, so they passed on it.

So now we have top foot the bill to bail GM out to achieved what this one person set out to do years ago and is well on his way with partners Renualt & Nissan.

Makes great sense for a small country.  Over here, bringing back the cable car system in large urban areas would probably accomplish the same end result.  Mass transit improvement would probably be the best focus in large urban areas.  If I recall correctly, Chicago's South Shore line is electrically powered, as are most of the third rail El's there.

Certainly NY & LA would be candidates, Iowa, not so much.

The South Shore Line is electrically powered, as are all the L's. When I was a young boy in Chicago the city busses were all electrically powered from overhead wires. Battery powered busses, that'd be great.

parts of boston still have those electro-buses with the overhead wires.kinda cool. Manhattan, being only 12 miles by 2 miles. you just don't need to drive.the outer boroughs are usually fine traffic wise. L.A. is just death.they could use something.

The T in Boston is mostly underground and is all electric. When I go into Boston I park at the Rt 128 T station (above ground) and jump on it and you can get all over Boston in it, beats driving there in that mess.
