I was given the Doobie Brothers double Live album "Rockin down the highway" for my birthday and I've been playing it in my car for a few days.

Man this cat Skylark is a great bass player. Not sure about the sleeveless shirt and flip flops look but he sure sounds good.

I don't know, but his Alembic got smashed a few years ago when a stage collapsed.

Flip flops on stage = BAD!

Little rock n roll story.
A few years ago I was in a liquor fueled band called Original Sin. We did original blues rock n boogie in the vein of Red Devils.
For one of the tours I invited Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy, Motörhead, Frankie Miller) to join us as a special guest on this little tour across The Netherlands.
Robbo is an avid flip flop fan. He wears black shiny leather Gucci flip flops. Day and night.
This little tour was in the wintertime. We drove back from a gig (in Purmerend I think) and it was freezing outside. We were in my oldtimer Mercedes 250 from 1968 with Robbo in the backseat. Inebriated. My girlfriend Floor was driving. Sober. All of a sudden we started spinning. The tarmac was completely iced over. She had no control over the car. We came to a stop in the verge which was covered by a thick layer a fresh snow. No damage done.
But we couldn't get the car out, back on the highway. We had to step out and push it back on the tarmac.
So there was Robbo on his flip flops, in the snow, freezing his toes off (and what not), trying to push the old Mercedes out of the verge, slipping and falling, cursing and swearing in his thick Scottish accent...

So that's why I think flip flops are VERY rock n roll.

i'm sorry but the only times "flip flops" are acceptable is at a public pool or gym. no one wants to see your toes.

Robbo also wore clogs with Thin Lizzy, so the tendency towards silly footwear is deep-seated.
Gucci flip flops? No wonder his tenure in Motorhead was so brief!

Haha yeah, Robbo has always been recalcitrant.
You gotta admire his guts to get on stage wearing leg warmers in front of all those heavy biker dudes at Motörhead gigs. Refusing to play Ace Of Spades.
He doesn't give a f***. Yep, that is what I call rock n roll :toast:
