My herd has changed recently, I sold both of my Jerry Jones basses(4 and 6-string), and reaquired my Hondo Longhorn which I bought new in '82(?) and sold to a friend in 2000. Good to have it back, did lots of gigging with it in the 80s.

Is the Hondo a 34" or 32"? How about the sound, the P-pickup looks it could be nearer the bridge than the traditional sweet spot?

leftybass

34" scale, 2 octave neck. Solid body.

The stock pickup is a Dimarzio, I don't know if its closer to the bridge or not, could be, or might be the extra fingerboard length making it look that way.
I've only ever played it with rounds, it has a great cutting tone with plenty of mids. The switch is a passive bass boost, really adds some extra bottom. It's a rockin' bass. I've missed it, glad to have it back.

Any particular reason you sold the 2 Jerry Jones? Did they fall out of favor or did you get an offer you couldn't refuse?

Chris P.

I like the looks of those split pickup Hondos. I recently rediscovered my '58 Dead-on reissue. Love it. Cuts through the mix like hell and it's my favourite bass at the moment, over my '73 Rick and '76 Bird. And even the Warwicks;)

Dang, I wish I'd known you were selling the JJs. I might have been able to swing the 4-banger.
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

I was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Very happy with the sale.
