They are embarrasingly clueless when it comes to basses. That's just a highly modified 4003. And Roberto Vally - a good solid bass player - tries to make it sound like a Fender.

The guy discovering in real time that it had a thru-neck was something. At a guess it has been dressed up more like an early 4000, but with a white pickguard rather than gold.

Thanks Ilan. I'm running it through a digital simulation of a SansAmp , then through a VT Bass DI and out my Yamaha 5'' studio monitors. Recorded with my little Zoom camera built-in mics. Also, the bass has a JTEX Distiller low pass filter with 3-way Q switch and a JTEX LFC bass boost/cut. I had previously done another section of the song here:
