I found this memory today , and cracked up. Mike Finnigan was a long time keyboard player with Bonnie Raitt , and many others ...


"I told my then-future-in-laws when I was dating my wife, he said 'Well, what do you want to do with your life?'
And I said 'Well, I'm doing it!'
And he said 'Oh my God!'
I said 'Well, I also write a little, so if this doesn't work out, I can fall back on my poetry!' "

That is hilarious! How many times did I hear that "something to fall back on" line. I was too dumb determined to listen. Got unbelievably lucky in my early 30s to fall into what turned into an actual career.
