First of all, a little history: when Elvis Costello and his band the Attractions were to play Saturday night live, the record company had preassured him to play "Less than zero" but Costello himself didn't feel that that particullar song was happening, and so he pulled a stunt which had him banned from USA television for a number of years... He started "Less than zero" before adruptly stopping the song and going "I'm sorry Ladies and gentlemen but there's no reason to be playing this song." before launching into "Radio, Radio" and in doing so  screwing up the tight schedule of SNL.

Twenty years later, SNL had the Beastie Boys over and guess who THEY brought along...
