Fun and weird

Lordy, I love a good mystery. This one popped up on Reverb, supposedly in Russia.  So, outwardly it looks like an odd old 82 with dots and binding and some obviously suspicious parts, like knobs and guard.  But the thing that caught my eye on this is it is sporting a CB decal, which only popped up on the all gold 82s. Those did not come with bullets and three bolts, and tragically did not come with rosewood.  So I would gather this might possibly be an 85 Fullerton parts dump bass.  Fun.

A suspicious bass coming from Russia? Who'd a thunk it?  ;D

Parts bass for sure, but did it come from Fullerton that way? Hard to know. The three bolt neck with a CB s/n is really odd.

That neck plate looks a lot more whupped than the body.

You are right.  Not enough finish wear surrounding it to seem legit.

Good eyes. I didn't notice, but you're quite right.

Love that color scheme with the bound maple neck, white pickup covers and knobs, and TV logo. And 4-bolt to boot.

Almost all the CB decals show up on the all gold bass. The 82 dots and binding basses almost always have S8 decals.
