Without George, Life of Brian and Time Bandits wouldn't have been made. IMHO that more than makes up for the later failures.

From the movie viewer's perspective that may be true.  But from George Harrison's perspective things must have been very bittersweet if his interviews are any indication.  Personally, though, I was very disappointed in "Time Bandits."  I walked out of the theater feeling let down.  It was less than I expected considering it had some of my favorite people in it such as John Cleese, Sean Connery and Michael Palin.  I very much preferred "A Fish Called Wanda" which also had Cleese and Palin.

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but Time Bandits is one of my very favorite films.
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

My favorite HandMade Films/Harrison stable release was Mona Lisa, I really liked that.

Terry Gilliam is in my view a movie genius with an uncanny talent of messing things up along the way. Most of his films are based on great ideas and demonstrate  proficient storytelling, but are somehow flawed (his penchant for overrunning budgets might be to blame, many of his films are a strange mix of fastidious attention to detail and then sudden "rushed move"-jerks that let the storyline suffer).

The one great exception for me is "Brazil", a flawless masterpiece his later work unfortunately failed to match though 12 Monkeys got close. But Brazil has a place in my top ten of movies.

I never got to see Mona Lisa, but I would like to.  I very much liked 12 Monkeys.  I also found it fitting that Madeleine  Stowe was given a cameo role in one of the episodes of the TV version of 12 Monkeys.
